Nenwe, a peaceful town located along one of the busiest inter-state roads in the south-east (Enugu-Portharcourt Expressway), requires a formidable security presence to mitigate the undue influence of inter-state and international logistic and commercial activities taking place along this corridor of movement. To foster investor confidence and communal peace within the town, the Nenwe Integrity Foundation (NIF) came up with the intervention of bringing the presence of Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in Nenwe. In actualising this noble initiative which hitherto prevented financial institutions from investing and operating within the town, the NIF embarked on the construction of a standard police station which will offer the police the necessary atmosphere to protect the people. The prolonged absence of this security infrastructure in the town inflicted huge difficulty on the people as the rural dwellers and the business community in Nenwe had to travel about twenty (28) kilometers to access banking services. This effort to safeguard their resources also came with additional challenges of road crashes which had claimed several lives, while some individuals lost their money in armed robbery in the course of their journey to the banks. This project was handed over to the NPF on the 1st of January, 2012.
